I used to send decks. Today I sent a working pipeline.
The old consulting move: write a deck, present it, pray they say yes. The new one: build the thing, send the microsite that explains it. Same Wednesday afternoon.
Today I sent a UAE insurance client a microsite. Not a proposal. Not a deck. A working pipeline, scaffolded and explained, ready to install.
Two years ago at a large UAE port operator, the same brief would have meant a two-month engagement and roughly USD 40k of agency time. A research phase. A strategy doc. A 60-slide deck. A PowerPoint walk-through. Six weeks of back-and-forth before anyone shipped anything.
This week, in a few days, I delivered the actual thing. Five levers. Six-step process. Sixteen months of Google Search Console data analysed. Competitor audit. WhatsApp-based approval flow. Eight-to-twelve minutes of the client's time per published blog. Microsite that explains all of it — the same shape we use across every Articulate workflow.
Her problem was never strategy. Her problem was friction. Strategy she had — fifteen years of it. What she didn't have was the eight clear minutes a week to get a blog from idea to published. Now she does.
What this means for clients: you stop paying for the artefact and start paying for the install. The deliverable isn't fifty pages of insight; it's the workflow that produces the insight every week, on your stack, owned by you.
What this means for consultants: the execution layer is cheap now. The judgement layer is the entire fee. Anyone can stand up a blog factory with the right prompts. Almost nobody can tell you which one to build, what to feed it, when to override its output, and who on your team actually owns the eight-to-twelve minutes.
